Based on my own personal connections and professionalism, I have established a relationship with one of my old teaching assistants from college who is now a Kindergarten teacher in Chemnitz, Germany (just as I am a Kindergarten teacher here in the United States). I have also connected with someone I met last year on my honeymoon in the Dominican Republic! She now works at a daycare in Punta Cana, servicing at-risk children in the area. Both women are extremely well informed about the world of early childhood and have agreed to aid me in this course and in future questions. I have talked with each of these women and we will be in contact at least once a week for the remainder of this course!
Part II:
I chose to keep up to date with the International Step by Step Association as I have not heard of them before, yet on doing research this week, I learned of their mission to have all children "reach their unique potential" which is a motto I try and live by everyday as an educator. I look forward to learning more about the organization and to possibly being an advocate for them.
I am looking forward to see what type of issues they have with teaching in Germany. I have always heard that it is wonderful to go to school there. Also looking forward to hear more about the organization that you have choose to write on.

ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to learn from you and to be able to compare and contrast what educational and early education looks like in Germany when compared to Cuba and the United States. My sister was stationed in Germany thirty years ago with her newborn son. She did not utilize the child development systems there as my mom went to care for her son while they were in Germany. I look forward to learning with you!
I agree with the motto of the organization you chose. I agree with Lyndy that I am very curious about your teaching environment.
ReplyDeleteHi Lyndy. I do not know much about teaching over in Germany so I am interested to hear about what goes on there. I do have one friend online who is in the army over in Germany but like I said, I do not really know anything in regards to education over there. I'm ready to learn new things!
